Brunswick Crossing's Best Fall Amenities

Brunswick Crossing in fall

Every season has its uniquely wonderful qualities. Here in Maryland, we’re lucky to experience them all. Fall is no exception. Imagine the trees bursting with fiery colors, the smell of apple cinnamon wafting from your warm beverage, a cozy sweater keeping out the chilly air, the joyous sound of laughter around a crackling fire pit.

With such wonderfully mild weather, fall is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors before winter has us huddling in front of the fireplace. Brunswick Crossing has a variety of amenities to help you behold the beauty of the season.

Walking and Biking Trails

Throw on a jacket, strap on a helmet, or lace up your walking shoes because there’s ground to cover! Brunswick Crossing features 26 miles of trails and walkways. These scenic paths meander through the community, giving you perfect views of the fall foliage, peaceful forests, and bounding countryside. The trails are also labeled with signage and wayfinding markers organized by a local Boy Scout, Ivan, and EMS.

If you’re looking for more nearby adventures, the C&O Canal is just a short drive away. Construction on the C&O Canal was completed in 1850, giving visitors a glimpse at the transportation of goods in the 19th and 20th century. While the canal was once used to move commodities such as lumber, wheat, and coal to the urban markets of the Chesapeake Bay, it now offers a serene place for visitors to hike, camp, bike ride, picnic, and marvel at slices of history.

Fields and Courts

Fall means the end of baseball season but the start of football and hockey season. Watching your favorite team on TV might just inspire you to hit the field yourself. No matter your sport of preference, Brunswick Crossing has a variety of fields and courts to choose from. Score a goal or serve an ace on our soccer field and tennis courts located just outside our state-of-the-art community center. Shoot some hoops or set the perfect pass on our basketball and volleyball courts.

Nearby Day Trips

If you’re looking to venture further, there is plenty to explore! Just down U.S. Route 15 is Frederick, Md., with an exciting, historic downtown area where opportunities await. Go shopping on Market Street, visit the antique shops, catch a show, listen to live music, or grab a meal at any of the excellent restaurants. If you’re really feeling adventurous, take a trip to Washington, D.C., for a day of exploring our nation’s capital.

If you’re looking for the perfect outing with friends, look no further than the many breweries and wineries scattered throughout Maryland and Virginia. Within half an hour of Brunswick Crossing, the Potomac Cluster of wineries takes you through historic Leesburg and features other interesting stops along the way, such as the Village of Lucketts and Ball’s Bluff. If you’re looking for craft breweries, there is a growing variety of options, such as Vanish and Flying Dog, whether you’re heading toward Frederick or into Virginia.

Something for Every Family Member

If you’ve got young or furry members of the family, Brunswick Crossing has activities for everyone. Located throughout the community, tot lots provide a great way for kids to let out their energy. Our dog parks are an excellent way to let your dog off the leash and socialize with other neighborhood dogs. Both parks — one for small pups, one for larger dogs — are the perfect places to get your best friend exercise. If you’ve got a family member with a green thumb, plots are available in our community garden! Who wouldn’t love fresh veggies and herbs with their meal?
