When you live in one of the single family homes built by Ryan Homes at Brunswick Crossing, you have endless summer activities within the community and its surrounding area that will keep you and your family busy and entertained until back-to-school season arrives.
The summer months are all about maximizing your time with the family, and Brunswick Crossing is an excellent place to do so because of its amazing amenities and proximity to some exciting summer activities in the area.
To help you and your family navigate your way through all of these fun-filled summer activities, Ryan Homes is here to offer some suggestions.
If you’re staying within the Brunswick Crossing community to take advantage of its wonderful amenities that create a “staycation” atmosphere, here are some of the spots you’ll definitely want to seek out in the summer. The best part: they are all just a short walk from the front doors of our single family homes.
Community Pool: Our 25-meter pool offers our residents entertainment and exercise throughout the summer months. This is the perfect place for adults and children to cool off while having some fun. Your kids won’t be able to get enough of the Interactive Splash Zone and dedicated Kiddie Pool.
Trails and Walkways: Our 26-miles of paved trails and walkways within the Brunswick Crossing community can be used for running, walking, bike riding, and more. Take to the trails for your morning run or go for a lunchtime walk and catch up with a friend.
Athletic Facilities: Between the basketball and tennis courts and the various athletic fields at Brunswick Crossing, sports are always available right in your own backyard. Get a pick-up game together with friends or play catch with your kids, all just steps away from our single family homes.
Tot Lots and Playgrounds: Brunswick Crossing has several spaces for parents to take their kids to play. The numerous tot lots and playgrounds in the community make for great spots to tire out energetic kids and help them meet other friends their age within the neighborhood.
Dog Parks: Brunswick Crossing not only has dog parks, it has a “big dog” park for larger breeds so owners of smaller dogs can choose whether to let them interact with bigger dogs or take them to the “lap dog” park instead.
Brunswick Crossing is just a stone’s throw away from popular destinations such as Downtown Frederick, Harpers Ferry, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. The City of Brunswick itself also knows how to celebrate summer the right way. Here are some summer activities for you and your family to enjoy just outside of the community.
River & Trail Outfitters: Located in nearby Knoxville, Maryland, River & Trail Outfitters offers guests a variety of outdoor summer activities. From whitewater rafting to tubing to kayaking, canoeing, ziplining, and more, River & Trail Outfitters has it all for those looking to get outdoorsy.
Brunswick Family Campground: Brunswick Family Campground is located between the Potomac River and the C&O Canal National Historical Park in Frederick County, Maryland. This riverfront camping area has scenic views of Short Hill Mountain, the Potomac River, and all kinds of interesting, natural wildlife for you and your family to enjoy. Tent camping, cabin rentals, and RV sites are available at this site during camping season.
C&O Canal: The C&O Canal runs through multiple states, but the portion by Point of Rocks—about 10 miles from Brunswick—is certainly worth checking out during the summer. There is a boat launch for those looking to get on the water, as well as a picnic area with restrooms. This is the perfect setting to hike, relax, and get some fresh air with the family.
Downtown Frederick Summer Concert Series: Downtown Frederick is a fun place to explore all year round, but the summer offers some great free family activities like the Summer Concert Series. See great live music on Sundays throughout the summer and don’t forget to hit up some of the great shops and restaurants downtown on Market Street.
Public and State Parks: Public and State Parks in the Brunswick area such as Gathland State Park are some other awesome free or low-cost options for you and your family to enjoy throughout the summer. Fishing, hiking, and—most importantly—family bonding can all be done in these scenic locations.
